Vero Beach Global Advisors
Investment Process

Disciplined by process.
Tailored by design.

Vero Beach Global Advisors is an investment organization that cultivates intellectual curiosity and creativity. That fundamentally leads to our direct research approach, where our in-house team designs tailored portfolios, crafted security by security with an emphasis on liquidity and thoughtful diversification. Our goal is to ensure our investment decisions are fully aligned with each client's objectives and risk tolerance.

Portfolio Management Philosophy

Individually managed. Custom-built.

Each family is unique, so each client's assets are managed specifically for them. While the same investment process is applied to every client, no two portfolios look alike — they are built to meet that specific client's objectives and capacity for risk. That puts the odds of success more in your favor.

Logically Diversified

We build logically diversified portfolios using a global opportunity set of vetted publicly traded individual stocks and bonds, thoughtfully assembled using a fundamental valuation discipline.

Cost-Sensitive

We focus on returns net of fees and taxes. Our preference for utilizing individual stocks and bonds allows us to reduce an additional layer of expenses embedded in investment products — and keeps us in control of tax ramifications.

All-Weather

We actively administer portfolios with a view toward long-term absolute returns through different global economic and capital market cycles.

Equity Investment Philosophy

Fundamentally-driven.

As we craft the equity allocation of client portfolios stock by stock, we are intently focused on three key tenets for each company: durable growth, disciplined valuation, and reliable cash flows. As long as a company meets these criteria, we direct capital to where the opportunity is most favorable, with no geographic, market capitalization, or industry limitations. We believe the expanded opportunity set increases return potential and diversification.

Growth

We want a company's products or services to have a durable competitive advantage that will allow for continued growth over an extended period of time.

Valuation

We seek to purchase a business at a distinct discount to our assessment of its intrinsic value.

Cash Flows

We require a company to share its earnings with shareholders through a reliable dividend with the capacity to grow.

Global Mandate

Going the extra mile.

350,000And counting miles traveled on behalf of our clients to research the companies in which we invest

Our fundamental research isn't confined to our office walls. Our travels have taken us around the world to "kick the tires," meet with management teams, and see firsthand how the companies we invest in operate. That same team is here in Vero Beach, meeting with clients and understanding their goals firsthand — the people researching investments are the same people responsible for serving our clients.

Fixed Income Philosophy

Controlling the controllables.

Fixed income allocations have a dual purpose: stability of principal and reliability of income. Our ability to construct a client's fixed income allocation with individual bonds allows us to take it a step further. We decide which fixed income sub-asset classes to invest in based on relative value and each client's circumstances, allowing us to manage taxes, risk, and cash flows.

Taxes

Depending on a client's tax situation and the account type, we utilize tax-exempt municipal bonds or taxable bonds to maximize after-tax income and returns. After all, it is the after-tax dollars that go into a client's pocket.

Risk

There are two main types of investment risk: interest rate risk and credit risk. We manage the former by actively adjusting duration positioning, and the latter through credit research focused on our clients' ability to receive timely interest and principal payments.

Cash Flows

There are two main cash flows: coupon and principal payments. The amount and timing can be important for our clients, especially those who are using these assets for living expenses, quarterly tax payments, or charitable contributions.
